Description
Passo Pordoi is a name that often recurs in the minds of cycling enthusiasts.
On this road, companies that have made the history of this noble sport have been marked, not for nothing at the top of the pass, in the presence of the summit of Sass Pordoi, the municipality of Canazei has erected a monument in honor of the Campionissimo Fausto Coppi.
The climb, which starts from Canazei and is 12 km long, with an altitude difference of about 800 m, does not present any particularly demanding stretch and the slopes are maintained
consistently around 6%.
The Pordoi Pass was climbed for the first time in 1940 in the Tour of Italy and is one of the most famous Dolomite passes traveled several times. Furthermore, since 1965, the year of establishment of Cima Coppi, it has been the highest pass of the competition 13 times.
