Description
The one that leads to Passo Giau is a climb well known by cycling lovers.
Its notoriety is above all due to the fact that the Giau is one of the climbs present in the long route of the Dolomites Marathon.
The ascent can be tackled from two sides: from Selva di Cadore or from Pocol, a small hamlet above Cortina d'Ampezzo.
In the Giro d’Italia it was always tackled from the side of Selva di Cadore, the hardest and most spectacular.
The climb measures 10.1 km with an average gradient of 9%, and a maximum peak of 16%.
