The Stelvio pass is a historic climb in cycling, it has in fact been traveled by the Giro d\u2019Italia many times and has often been the scene of the exploits of great champions.\nThe ascent from the Lombard side starts from Bormio (1,225 m asl) and is 21 km long.\nThe slope of the climb starts immediately challenging with sections where you can catch your breath. After 15 km you reach a stretch of about one kilometer, with a moderate gradient, from which you begin to glimpse the top of the climb. The last 4 km are the hardest and most demanding, with gradients above 8%.\nShe was Cima Coppi 12 times.\nThe pass entered the world of cycling in 1953, when it was included for the first time on the Giro d'Italia track. On that occasion, the Stelvio was the scene of one of Fausto Coppi's last great feats: in the penultimate stage, from Bolzano to Bormio, the now 34-year-old champion broke away from the leader of the standings, won the pink jersey and won his fifth and final Giro.<\/p>\n
